You should be an Honours graduate, normally with a 1st or 2:1. For secondary training the degree must be relevant to the subject you wish to teach (normally 50% of your degree content). We may consider applicants with a 2:2 who can demonstrate a real aptitude for teaching.
You must have GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above. To train as a primary teacher you must also have a GCSE in Science at Grade C or above.
You must have DBS clearance before you can start the course.
You must have a pass in the Literacy and Numeracy skills tests before training begins.
If your qualifications have not been acquired in the UK, you should visit the NARIC (National Academic Recognition Centre) website to determine whether your qualifications are equivalent to GCSE, A Level or Degree.
For the salaried route you would normally need at least 3 years work experience. This does not have to be in a school context.
